Melissa DeChellis, Co-Founder

Hi, I'm Melissa! I've been painting for as long as I can remember- art has always been my happy place. I studied at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art in NJ and for the past 10 years, I've been lucky enough to run my own art studio, helping others tap into their creativity.

I'm also a proud mom to a wonderful son and wife to the most supportive (and handsome!) husband. They're my heart and biggest cheerleaders.

Starting an art retreat has been a dream in the making. I've always felt the call for a new adventure, and with no retreat quite like this in the Poconos, I knew it was time. Grown-Up Art Camp at Camp Oneka brings together 2 of my great loves- art and nature- in 1 magical place. I can't wait to create, explore and connect with you all under the pines.

I'm beyond excited to launch Grown-Up art Camp- and even more thrilled to be partnering with Christine Unger with Canvas & Cabernet. Her energy, talent and passion make this journey even more special.

Let's make something beautiful together... just don't touch my feelings :D

Christine Unger, Co-Founder

Christine Unger has been joyfully slinging paint, resin and glitter for almost 10 years as owner of Canvas & Cabernet, helping grown-ups and kids alike tap into their inner creative genius. Whether it's guiding a first-time painter through their Bob Ross masterpiece or getting their hands dirty making glass art, Christine believes art should be fun, fearless and maybe a little messy. From canvas to wood, stained glass to resin bowls, she's made it her mission to change everyone's mind about what they are really capable of doing in her classes and turn every class into a creative adventure. She specializes in "Glassterpiece" art and is a Certified Bob Ross Instructor. She grew up watching Bob on PBS and has been hooked on all things artsy ever since. She had dreams of growing up to become a comic book penciler, but life had way better plans for her!

When she is not in the studio, she is usually indulging in a glass or two of wine and enjoying the company of her 3 studio dogs, her husband, 4 children, 3 grandchildren and the friends who have become family to her.

She is beyond excited bringing Grown-Up Art Camp to life with Melissa. They are 2 friends who never would've met if it wasn't for this funny little passion they share called ART- after all, the EARTH without ART is just EH :)
